Filmmaker Abhik Bhanu’s tables his second book – Stool Pigeon

Abhik Bhanu resurfaces by successfully tabling his second book ‘Stool Pigeon’. The 264 page paperback is published by Okada Aims and marketed by e-commerce giant Amazon @ Rs. 199 where lakhs of book lovers are buying this fiction novel. The book provides a bird’s eye view on the poor in India in an unfettered manner exploring the bare underbelly of the Indian socio-political ecosystem.

Abhik Bhanu, a journalist by profession has ventured into creative cinema as writer-director and producer. His first Hindi feature film ‘Sab Kuch Hai Kuch Bhi Nahi’ revolving around Mahatma Gandhi has fetched him laurels and received critical appreciation at various film festival circuits. His first book ‘Dark Rainbow’ – is also being made for celluloid. The musical film with the same title is in its post-production stages. Meanwhile, Abhik Bhanu has completed another Hindi feature, ‘Gun Pe Done’ which is also in its post-production stages.

Now, Abhik Bhanu is gearing up to make his second book ‘Stool Pigeon’ for celluloid once again. The Hindi feature film is being titled as ‘Khabri 420’ and is in its pre-production stages.

‘Stool Pigeon’ a.k.a. ‘Khabri 420’ is a love story between a police commissioner’s daughter and a police informer (stool pigeon). Like its paperback version, the film will be an eye-opener against the heinous acts of children at NGO shelter homes, especially girls including the disabled ones pushed into flesh trade. It highlights real-life stories that have been published in the media with burning issues from Kolkata (West Bengal), Muzaffarpur (Bihar) and Devaria (U.P.).

Abhik Bhanu is finding his foothold as a litterateur, editor, script writer and filmmaker for movies like many others which includes the well-known and veteran writers like Khwaja Ahmed Abbas, Rajinder Singh Bedi, Krishen Chander, Saadat Hasan Manto, Bharati, Rajkamal amongst many others.
