Dr. Sandeep Marwah, the President of Marwah Studios and Chancellor of AAFT University of Media and Arts, was recently honored with the Iconic Award at the Tourism Summit held in New Delhi. The event was organized by Redhat Communications, and the awards were presented to individuals from the travel, tourism, and hospitality industry for their extraordinary contributions to nation-building.
Sandeep Marwah, who coined the term “Film and Cultural Tourism” 32 years ago, has been successful in attracting around three million people to Noida Film City under film and cultural tourism and also hosting 7,500 cultural events at Marwah Studios. He received the award from Vinod Kumar Duggal, the former Governor of Manipur & Mizoram, and Arvind Singh, the Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
The event was graced by the presence of several dignitaries, including Harin Fernando, the Minister of Tourism & Lands Government of Sri Lanka, and various ambassadors from countries such as Turkey, Cyprus, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Serbia, Uzbekistan, and Zimbabwe. The jury members included Rajeev Talwar, the CEO & Director of DLF Developers Ltd, Madhu Jain, a fashion designer, Shazia IIlmi, a politician & journalist, Parineeta Sethi, the Chief Editor of Global Spa India & Middle East & Peaklife, and several others.
Jyoti Mayal, the designer of the Iconic Awards, spoke about the importance of travel and adventure in learning and developing oneself. She also highlighted that the awards were an annual feature of Redhat Communications and aimed to recognize outstanding contributions to nation-building.
Overall, the Tourism Summit and Iconic Awards were a grand success, and Sandeep Marwah’s contributions to the tourism industry were duly recognized and appreciated.
